Power outage Templestowe

The power in Stradmore Avenue Templestowe went out about 15-20 minutes ago. I checked around the street but there was nothing obvious which may have caused the outage. Possibly an issue on an nearby street.

Accident at corner Williamsons Road and Foote Street holding up traffic

At the intersection of Williamsons Road and Foote Street in Templestowe there has been an accident with a truck where the front of the truck has been pushed in and glass from the windscreen is on the road. The accident is in the West lane of Williamsons Road heading North just before Foote Street. The traffic was banked up before the hill and it took us about 10-15 minutes to get through.

Traffic has been reduced to a single lane. There are three police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck on the scene. The second vehicle wasn’t present.

Templestowe mother Staci Mariolis

When I read this article I thought it is always good to see people chipping in and helping others. However, then I couldn’t help feeling is there really a need for this service. Every teenager usually has one or more of their parents, brothers, sisters, aunties, uncles and friends which I would have thought would be able to chip in and help out. Perhaps this is a sign we need to start thinking about what is important to us and perhaps help each other a little more.

Templestowe Bendigo Bank sending community funds out of the area.

When I read this article I couldn’t help feel Bendigo Bank Templestowe should be looking for ways to assist residents and the local community in Templestowe rather than sending money out of the area. Giving such large amounts to Manningham Council feels the Bendigo Bank is raising money on behalf of a local government body. There are many people who are suffering in the local area in one form or another who could benefit with some assistance.

At last week’s meeting, councillors voted to enter into an agreement with the Doncaster East and Templestowe Bendigo Bank community branches to receive the funding for works on the Sheahans Rd and DISC (Donvale Indoor Sports Centre) facilities
