Queen's Birthday 2010

With Anzac day now a memory, the next public holiday in Victoria is the Queen's Birthday holiday. I've always thought it was rather strange that we don't celebrate the Queen's birthday on her actual birthday. Since I didn't know when that was I decided to investigate. However I also wondered if all states celebrate her birthday on the same day.

The result was quite interesting. It turns out Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21st 1926.

Equally interesting are the states: Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania all have the Queen's Birthday for 2010 on the 14th of June. Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory also have the Queen's Birthday on the 14th of June.

Western Australia differs and has the Queen's Birthday for 2010 on Monday the 27th of September.

Enjoy
